SkyNano Welcomes Summer 2025 Interns

SkyNano would like to introduce our Summer 2025 Interns, who will be making contributions on projects ranging from our electrochemical process optimization to marketing and sales strategy! The rich and diverse educational backgrounds of each intern will provide our team with fresh perspectives and positive energy. We wish you all the best and cannot wait to see your growth in the coming months!

Lia Milionis

Hi! My name is Lia Milionis, and I just graduated with my bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and chemistry at Vanderbilt University. I will be interning at SkyNano this summer before pursuing my PhD in chemical engineering at Carnegie Mellon in the fall. Throughout my internship, I will be working on a water-based separation system and hope to use this experience to inform my future research in sustainable process engineering.

Guillermo Torrente

Hi, my name is Guillermo Torrente! I am a recent grad in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. My dream is to use my degree to do environmental and sustainability work in order to benefit both the environment and people. At SkyNano, I am working as a chemical engineering intern over the summer, where I am testing an alternative process to make our product more sustainable. These results will inform the feasibility of a scaled-up version of the carbon conversion process. I am already having a fantastic time here at SkyNano, and I look forward to everything this summer will bring me!

Lindsey Hessler

Hello! My name is Lindsey Hessler and I am in my final year of undergrad at the University of Tennessee, studying both Physics and Business Administration. I plan to use these degrees working in industries such as energy, defense, or environmental sciences as a project manager. In these roles I will be able to use my technical background to translate scientific findings into stakeholder value. My role at SkyNano this summer will be working as a Marketing Intern. Some of my projects include strategic digital planning, physical product marketing, and creating a comprehensive packaging plan. I look forward to learning more throughout my summer at SkyNano!

About SkyNano

SkyNano is a science-based technology company focused on commercializing a free-market solution to carbon pollution. It specifically develops a novel electrochemical manufacturing technology for the capture and conversion of CO2 from various sources (atmospheric, concentrated, flue gas) into valuable carbon-based materials including SkyNano’s flagship product – carbon nanotubes. Peer-reviewed scientific papers feature SkyNano’s technology, which also earned a 2020 R&D 100 Award and a 2021 TechConnect Innovation Award. Furthermore, our CEO and Co-Founder Dr. Anna Douglas was recognized with a Forbes 30 Under 30 award in 2019. In fact, both SkyNano founders are Forbes 30 Under 30 innovators, as Prof. Cary Pint was awarded the recognition in the inaugural year of the awards. To learn, visit: https://www.skynano.co
